Through the sale of our business in America, construction of the Mission House began in July of 1999. By April 2000, 2 rooms were finished and the Rumples were able to move in. Construction continued through the years very slowly as the needs of the people were ever before us and we just could not turn our backs on them. Finally in October of 2008, a woman and her husband came to us asking how much we needed to finish construction on the house. We told them what was needed and they said, "Okay, well, go ahead and get that finished." We could not believe it! Throughout the 8 years, our family when it was Mary, Lee, Nicholas and us all lived in 3 hotel-type rooms with a shared Kitchen that was used for all guests of Grace and Peace. Once Mary and Lee ventured out to begin their adult life, we were down to 2 rooms. Then when Nicholas went to high school in America, we were down to just our bedroom. We never ever felt ungrateful for what the Lord gave us. We felt blessed as each day we would awaken to look outside and really see what it was like to live as a poor person.

Final construction began in October of 2008 and in September 2010, Karen and I will move into our 3rd floor personal quarters. It will have been 11 years without privacy, a place to get away to and a kitchen all our own! Through all of this, we watched the Lord provide for His poor people and now he has provided for us. "Wait upon the Lord and he will renew your strength." We try to live by this scripture on a day to day basis. The Pictures are in chronological order as each phase was finished. We now have 3 large bunk rooms to accommodate large short-term missions teams and 5 double rooms where group leaders or married couples can stay during their visit.
